I never have and never will stop loving Condensed Milk. Eating it with a big table spoon, letting it melt on your tongue, the delicious taste… In Ukraine we call is Sgushenka.

I remember when i was 4 years old, running to the store every morning with a huge smile on my face every time i get extra pocket money to get a can of my Sgushenka!
Here i finally found its equivalents:”LA Lechera:Condensed Milk” and “Dulce de leche” (Boiled Sgushenka). If you haven’t yet- you MUST try it! It can not compete with anything else, its simply heaven in a bottle!

FUN SGUSHENKA FACTS:

• You can make it different in taste by boiling it. Put a can into a pot of cold water, bring it to boil and leave it boiling for 1 hour. When you open it it will change its color to darkish brown. It will have a pretty different taste, more candy like!
• Now its gone fancy schmancy and it comes in Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry! But the original taste is the best
• Use it as a desert on its own or with Pancakes or Crepes! (The original Russian recipe). You can add it to practically anything, put it on cookies, ice cream, strawberries, bananas etc
• Add a spoon of Sgudhenka to EXPRESSO or any type of coffee
• When you have opened a can and left in in a fridge for a number of hours , try it on the sides or in the corners. When it starts to get a bit of dryness it in and ithardens in those areas but its still goowie like a melted caramel candy- its delish!

WITH THIS DELICIOUS “AVOCADO MILKSHAKE” RECIPE
PUT SGUSHENKA TO USE!

Makes about about 2 1/4 cups, enough to serve 2 or 3

1. 1 ripe medium avocado (6–8 ounces)
2. 1 cup ice (8 ice cubes)
3. 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
4. 1/4 to 1/2 cup milk

Scoop the avocado flesh into a blender.Add the remaining ingredients, starting out with the least amount of milk and puree until completely smooth.

Taste and add additional milk, depending on the avocado type and if a thinner consistency is desired.
